My sister's coworker recommended Mexico Tipico and said "Everything is good" so we didn't take her high praise lightly. Finally had the chance to check this place out with my sister over the weekend. Rating Breakdown: 2/2 Stars for Taste -- My sister was feeling a little under the weather so she ordered the posole. The waitress asked her something and my sister didn't catch it even though the waitress repeated herself twice, so she just said "Yes" (social anxiety for the win). Turns out she was asking if my sister wanted "pata"or pork trotters in the posole, for which HECK YES is the only correct answer. The pata was melt in your mouth delicious and the other cuts of pork in the soup were also so,so fork tender. I ordered the nopales (cactus) scramble, which is one of my favorites. The beans that it came was such an umami bomb, I was scraping the plate clean. Both of these came with your choice of flour or corn tortillas and we are team corn tortilla all the way. My husband ordered the chilaquiles con carne asada with red salsa, which was also very good. 1/1 Stars for Value -- I was a little hesitant at first because each platter was about $20 each, but the portion sizes are humongous. The platters are each about the size of a hubcap. We ordered the large soup so we could share, but we could definitely have done with the smaller portion. We had plenty of leftovers to bring home for breakfast the next day. There is also complimentary chips and salsa for the table and the salsa tasted housemade. 1/1 Stars for Customer Service-- We came for Saturday brunch and just beat the rush. This place was bumping by the time we were leaving. Even though it got busy, the waitress was super attentive and fast. It was never hard to flag her down for service. Bonus star because I'll definitely be back for Mexican breakfast but there are also a ton of other things on the menu that I'm dying to try.

First time here with family. Party of six. We were seated right away. Place is not too big and very cozy. Female server was very nice and answered all our questions. Drinks were delicious. Food was good. Portions were big. Burritos were so big that no one could finish. Complimentary salsa and chips were appreciated. My son ordered a hot chocolate which looked and tasted good. Enchilada and taco combination was delicious ($22). Entrees are expensive. We spent $250 excluding tip which included five entries, one appetizer and three drinks. Overall, everyone had a good time. No complaints and all left happy.

I didn't want to overeat so I ordered the half portion of a chicken sope and rice. It was very delicious. The rice was flavorful. Not many places have good rice. They did. And I loved the music they played in the background of Spanish rock and some pop. The staff was attentive. I will be coming back.

This was my first time visiting this place, and I just found out it was my mom's favorite local Mexican restaurant. To honor her memory, my brother TP and the o'hana gathered for dinner and chose to come here. We arrived at 6 PM with a reservation for 12. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and escorted to a spacious back room with plenty of seating for everyone. The menu had so many tempting options that it was tough to choose. Although I'm a big fan of chile relleno, I decided to go with the Carnitas Burrito Famosa (wet) this time. I thought a burrito would be a simple choice, but I always have a hard time deciding because I want to try everything! Next time, I'll definitely order the chile relleno. I gave it a try, but it was just okay. In my opinion, the mojito was a bit on the weak side. TP ordered the Chicharrón En Salsa Verde, and it looked decadently delicious. I tried a small piece, and it definitely lived up to its appearance. The food was good, and the portions were generous. We especially loved the complimentary chips and salsa. My brother also ordered appetizers for the group--two orders each of stuffed jalapeños and garlic fries. Overall, it was a great first visit. Now that I know it was Mom's favorite Mexican restaurant, I have even more reason to return. Overall rating: 3 1/2 Stars (Rounding up) - Big Aloha! Today was actually my second time visiting this location. First visit I had breakfast, the chorizo was amazing. Today I had a shrimp super burrito, the flavor was great, and it was a decent size. We ate outside on this beautiful day and it could not have been better. I don't know what it was called that my friend got it was full of different kinds of meat, and was absolutely delicious. The staff has been very nice each visit and the overall feel of this location is very comforting. I will return many times and I plan on trying many different things.
